Community Health Centers (CHC)-Burlington exemplifies its mission so fully that it serves as a positive model nationwide. This article explores the unique process we used to develop their three-year strategic plan, combining Appreciative Inquiry (AI) with the science of Creativity. The CHC leadership demonstrated courage and vision by shifting ownership of the plan, valuing input from employees, community partners and the board, and empowering a diverse core team to lead.
