Serving Leadership at Johns Hopkins Medicine
After a cascade of Serving Leader training in the department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine, special attention was given to identify candidates for ACCM’s residency program who are likely to thrive in the culture of Serving Leadership the department incorporated competency-based interviewing into the resident interview process. This technique seeks to replace traditional questions with questions about how candidates have acted in specific situations and leadership roles. This information is used to determine whether the candidate would add to the cohesiveness of the department’s residency program and be a good fit in its culture of serving leadership.
